fnatic over Titan for Gfinity final
fnatic pass Titan's test and advance to the Gfinity Spring Masters 2 grand final following a 2-1 win over the French-Swiss-Belgian squad (16-3 de_cbble, 11-16 de_cache, 16-9 de_inferno).
Starting off on de_cbble, fnatic were able to pick up the slow-paced pistol round as Terrorists and despite Titan being able to damage the economy with two triples in the two following rounds, the Swedes started racking up rounds.
Round after round fnatic were setting up for a delayed B push after their default positions, and thanks to Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer's and Jesper "JW" Wecksell's picks on both sides of the map, fnatic were soon up 8-0.
A double entry from Kenny "kennyS" Schrub broke the opposing's side streak, only for fnatic to break their economy once again two rounds afterwards at 10-1. Only doubles from Cédric "RpK" Guipouy and Kévin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans resulted in a round going in favor of Titan from there on, as fnatic stormed onto the Counter-Terrorist side with a 13-2 lead.
Great clutch play on the B bombsite from kennyS and RpK got the second pistol round on the board for Titan, but that was all they could grab as the DreamHack Tours champions replied with a forcebuy and soon took a 1-0 map lead at 16-3.
Titan's pick, de_cache, started off with another pistol round going fnatic's way, but this time around the French-Belgian-Swiss squad was able to take over much sooner and take the lead at 5-3 with a couple of convincing attacks, forcing fnatic into multiple ecos.
lurks from olofmeister and JW on Cobblestone demolished Titan
olofmeister's double entry with the big green resulted in Titan's streak ending, but Ex6TenZ's squad soon started another one just a round afterwards as Robin "flusha" Rönnquist was unable to clutch a last-seconds round with a dance around the forklift.
A forcebuy, one eco and a timeout from the Swedish side came to absolutely no fruition and Titan extended the second streak to six rounds for a 11-4 scoreline as Terrorists.
Smart retake strategy coming out of Ex6TenZ and his smoke allowing to defuse while everyone was fighting duels helped Titan get to 13 rounds before fnatic were forced to a third-round buy.
That one luckily for them panned out and they started getting back on the board with a couple of solid A bombsite splits. Soon after Titan took a timeout, which worked out that time around, and broke fnatic at 14-8. After splitting the following two rounds, fnatic took three more rounds in a row before Titan evened up the series at 16-11, 1-1.
The series was to be decided on de_inferno and it was olofmeister yet again bailing out fnatic and helping them win the initial pistol round. The same player's Mac-10 entry on A forced Titan to try and save, but fnatic hunted all their weapons down and forced them into an eco.
KRIMZ continues with consistent performances at Gfinity
A slow-paced B split put them on a 6-0 lead before Titan managed to reply with two rounds of their own, as they won the rotation game in a three-on-three in one, and RpK got a defensive triple on A in the other.
Twice in a row Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson was very close to winning a one-on-three, both ending up in a one-on-one, but Titan held on both times and got all the way to seven rounds on their Counter-Terrorist side.
Switching over to Terrorists though, nearly nothing seemed to work for Titan except for the pistol round for 8-8, fnatic's forcebuy put them right back at a disadvantage and took the lead 12-8.
A surprising forcebuy strategy on B was the only thing that did work in favor of Ex6TenZ's team, as fnatic's read in the following round put one of the last nails in Titan's coffin, who, with a couple of solid holds on A by the Swedes, ended up losing map three and the series 9-16.
