Tainted Minds secure Asia Minor playoff spot over Uniquestars
Tainted Minds have advanced to the playoffs at the Asia Minor after defeating Uniquestars 2-0 (16-5 on Train and 16-14 on Overpass).
Tainted Minds and Uniquestars faced in the Group B decider match which kicked off on Train. The CT-sided Australian team won the pistol round with a 3vs4 and made it 2-0 after winning an anti-eco.
Daniel "ponkt" Punkt clutched a 1vs3 in the third round to make it 2-1 but Uniquestars got reset in the following round. Tainted Minds' dominated the first half at the end of which they led 14-1. The Israeli squad took the first three rounds in the second half but Tainted Minds managed to close out the map 16-5.
The series continued on Overpass and Tainted Minds won the pistol round on the CT-side. Uniquestars responded with three rounds in a row to take a 3-1 lead. Tainted Minds took seven of the following eight rounds to lead 8-4 and finished the first half 9-6 ahead.
Callum "BURNRUOk" Henderson & Joshua "INS" Potter won the second half pistol round despite a 3vs5 disadvantage, making it 10-6. Uniquestars won the first weapon round thanks to double kills by Guy "NertZ" Iluz and Lidor "LaNrefNi" Almasi as they trailed 12-7.
Uniquestars were close to tying up the game at 12-12 but Tainted Minds won the 24th round with Chris "ofnu" Hanley and Yaman "yam" Ergenekon's opening kills, extending their lead to 13-11. BURNRUOk clutched a 1vs2 when the score was 14-14 and gave his team one match point (15-14). Tainted Minds won the map 16-14 and the series 2-0 to advance to the playoffs at the Asia Minor.
